Connecticut’s Young Democratic Delegates Weigh in on DNC

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Corey Frate, one of Connecticut’s young delegates at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, did a complete 180 when he went to vote in the 2016 presidential election.

Frate, 27, comes from a long line of Republicans in the historically conservative town of Darien. He had registered as a Republican right out of high school. But in 2016, he found himself questioning his place in the party.

Negative ads overwhelm Virginia voters

As election day in Virginia’s 31st District neared, Candice Skinker said that she became so overwhelmed with the number of negative political ads in her mailbox that she just started dumping them into the trash.

“We've been inundated with ads in the mail,” the Fauquier County resident said. “And a lot of them are negative ads that I just dump in the trash. I want to know what they [candidates] want to do or are going to do, not what they think the other guy is going to do.”
